This presentation will review the hydrologic reality of diminishing flows in the Colorado River Basin, together with our persistent use of more water than nature supplies and the paltry levels of reservoir storage remaining to offset that gap. We’ll discuss the federal government’s new rules for operating the river over the short term and how they address (or don’t) the situation we face. Some new and different concepts for sharing the river among the 40 million people it serves will round out this presentation.
